New: Italy & Paris Wooden Puzzles in Travel Case Boxes
by Unidragon US · May 20, 2026
Two new wooden puzzles joined the Unidragon US store this season. Both are built around places that people put on a bucket list and keep there. Italy and Paris, each as a 500-piece wooden jigsaw packed into a wooden suitcase-shaped gift box that doubles as long-term storage.
These are part of the Travel in a Case series. Designed for everyone who's traveled and wants to keep a piece of the trip on the shelf, and for everyone planning the trip who's still waiting for it.

Italy Wooden Puzzle
Italy in a Case captures the country in one frame: Tuscan hills with cypress trees, terracotta rooftops sloping toward the Mediterranean, Roman arches in the south, the canals of Venice in the morning light. The artwork doesn't pick one city. It picks the whole country, the version of Italy that lives in postcards and travel memory.

The whimsy pieces are where this puzzle becomes a story. Hidden among standard pieces are dozens of Italian icons: gondolas, Vespa scooters, Colosseum arches, wine bottles, espresso cups, the leaning tower of Pisa, local landmarks shaped into individual puzzle pieces. You won't notice them all on the first build. Some pieces only reveal themselves when you pick them up and turn them in your hand.
Right for: someone planning their first Italy trip, someone who just got back, anyone who's been talking about returning for years.
Paris Wooden Puzzle
Paris in a Case takes the Paris that exists in everyone's head: cobblestone streets, the Eiffel Tower at golden hour, café terraces in the Marais, the Seine winding past Notre-Dame, bouquinistes along the river. All compressed into a single hand-sized scene. The composition is dense. Finishing the puzzle takes a careful eye for architectural detail.

The whimsy pieces follow the city: the Eiffel Tower as a single piece, croissants, baguettes, Vespas, the Arc de Triomphe, French street signs, gargoyles from Notre-Dame. The puzzle works as a build and as a small Paris museum once it's complete.
Right for: a Paris romantic, someone with an upcoming trip, a couple who honeymooned there, anyone who loves the city more than they admit.
Why the suitcase box matters
Most wooden puzzles ship in a flat cardboard box, even premium ones. The Travel in a Case edition replaces that with a small wooden suitcase, sized to hold the assembled puzzle. After the build, you don't have to decide between framing it on the wall and giving it back its box. The puzzle goes back in, the case latches, and the case sits on a shelf as an object in its own right. As a gift, the suitcase is half the appeal. It looks like a present before anything is opened.

Who these puzzles are right for
- The returning traveler. Someone who just came back from Italy or Paris and wants a slow way to relive the trip. The build process is a 6 to 10 hour return visit.
- The future traveler. Someone planning the trip, saving for it, dreaming about it. The puzzle works as anticipation.
- The gift-giver who wants something specific. Generic gifts (candles, mugs, gift cards) feel impersonal. A city-themed wooden puzzle is specific in a way that says "I thought about you."
- The couple who shares trips. An evening or two together with a wine bottle and a Paris puzzle on the kitchen table is a different kind of date night than scrolling phones.
Build experience
500 pieces of city detail is harder than 500 pieces of an owl. The architectural patterns (windows, rooftops, cobblestones) make sorting by color less useful than usual. Many pieces look similar at first glance. Expect to spend the first hour just doing edge pieces and sorting by region: the sky, the water, the buildings, the street level. Once the regions are sorted, the build accelerates.
The whimsy pieces help here. When you find a Vespa or a baguette, you know exactly which area it belongs to.
